Jeff Schuerholz and Pete Jimenez
Jeff Schuerholz - Jeff has a long history in the anti war, Queer and AIDS activist movements. He was a silkscreen artist in Berkeley, California, creating posters and art for many groups in the anti -Vietnam War era. He was a very involved member of the direct action groups ACTUP/LA (The AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) and Queer Nation Los Angeles. Jeff was a member of the Community Advisory Committee for the exhibition: "Out of the Closet & Into the Streets- Posters on LGBTQ Struggles & Celebrations." He is currently serving on the board of directors for the Center for the Study of Political Graphics (CSPG).
Pete Jimenez - Pete is a self described "Queer with AIDS," He is a long term survivor of the disease. As a street activist he was a member of ACTUP/LA, Queer Nation LA, People With AIDS Coalition, Being Alive and PISD (People with Immune System Disorders.) Safe Medical access to marijuana is an issue Pete continues to promote. He is currently active with a number of national and international human rights organizations, including LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Intersexed) Asylum Seekers. Pete created several of the stickers and posters for the CSPG Exhibition: Out of the Closet and Into the Street - Posters on LGBTQ Struggles and Celebrations which premiered at the ONE Gallery in West Hollywood July 3, 2010."
